Thanksgiving- Life is Good!

While Thanksgiving has always been about family and the blessings God has given us, as our kids get older the way we spend the day has changed. It used to be a slow, leisurely morning- watch the parade, drink coffee, go pick up a newspaper, get things ready for the big meal. Then the afternoon involved eating, relaxing, and napping, and watching 2 football games back to back (Go Cowboys!). Well, the blessings, giving thanks, and eating has remained consistent. However, now, instead of seeing most of the parade, we watch about 15 minutes. Instead of a leisurely cup of coffee, we drink whatever is guzzled by the time the kids are finished with breakfast. And instead of a lazy, quiet morning, it's time to head to a playground and run off some of the 5,000 calories we're about to consume. We spent Thanksgiving morning climbing on the playground, playing tag, and catching little people at the bottom of the slide (way more fun that quietly reading the newspaper for Black Friday ads). People who say kids will change your life don't know the half of it. I'm so thankful for these 2 little monkeys and the way that they have changed my life.

P.S. Tom did get to watch his Cowboys' football game though (well..... most of it).

Those are 2 of the cutest and sweetest monkeys I've ever seen!
(But thank goodness for nap time so you can enjoy some leisure time, right?)
