Sisters. Sisters. Never were there such devoted sisters. (think the musical number from White Christmas with Rosemary
Clooney). Today was a special day. My little sis and I shared another birthday. It was pretty unique growing up sharing a birthday (kind of like twins- just 3 years apart). In a little walk down memory lane, we found some old pictures (the good, the bad, and the ugly). When Heidi was first born I didn't want to share my parents. My dad always sang "Daddy's Little Girl" to me at bed-time, and he changed the words to "daddy's little girl
S once Heidi came along. Yikes! I told him, "
Shhh. Just one girl, daddy." Well, I got over it and quickly came to love the red-headed baby that shared the 25
th of January for her birthday. We have never minded sharing the same birthday. In fact, growing up we usually had one big party with two cakes. This year Mom got one chocolaty sheet of goodness (after-all we have learned to share our chocolate). My sis is great, and I am lucky to have a sister who is also my best friend. We have quite literally shared our whole lives thus far, and I hope we are blessed to continue that way. I love you, Sissy. Happy Birthday!
Note: some pride was swallowed in digging up some of these photos and posting them for friends and family to see.

First day of school 1986. No, I wasn't the teacher. I just had a thing for blazers. What 8 year old doesn't? Heidi LOVED her saddle shoes.
I have to admit the mullet hair looks amazingly cute on
Heid. Only a red head can pull it off. Just like I could pull off Pocahontas.

Goodbye mullet and Pocahontas braids!

What more could a girl want? Two cute cake boys to help blow out the candles for us - what helpers!

Happy Birthday, Sis!
