Post game pics
So both of the boys are playing soccer at the local YMCA. Last fall Sam joined a team with 3 weeks left (when we went to cheer for a friend). He wasn't quite ready for team sports I guess, and there were many tears (and possibly an asthma attack:). This winter when big brother was playing basketball, Jack wanted to play too. We told him maybe he could play soccer. He has been talking about it non-stop, so we decided to give it a try. The boys are on the same team (for 3 and 4 year olds). You may notice there are no action shots. You see, mommy wasn't on the sidelines to take the game pictures. Mommy is also the coach (please stifle your laughter and shock). What was I supposed to do when I called to register them, and they told me they didn't have enough coaches to have any more 3-4 year old teams? The last time I played soccer I was about 10, but I think I know more about soccer than the average 3 year old. You know- the basics- no hands, stop when the whistle blows, don't take the ball from kids on your team. Practice has been pretty interesting. Luckily I was able to get my sis to hop on board, so Heidi and I are the proud coaches of the "Traffic Cones." If you could see the neon quality of our jerseys you would truly appreciate the name. Our first game was on Thursday. The weather since Tuesday night has been a giant, rainy mess. But the Traffic Cones press on. We played in dreary weather, but the kids ran their little hearts out and had lots of fun. By the end of the game they were pooped and ready for gatorade, a bath, and bed.
