So it's a month after Christmas, and I am just now updating the blog with all our holiday festivities. I know. I know. Pitifully late. Hang on. Here we go....

Christmas cuties.... technically I think these pictures were taken on Thanksgiving, but who's keeping track? Yes, the tree was up and decorated before the Thanksgiving turkey had been carved, but that's how we roll.

Sometime in December (actually most mornings in December) Sam could be found curled like a happy little dog cozy in front of the fire. Kinda makes me want to make a cup of cocoa and grab a blanket too.
Several days before Christmas Jolly Old Saint Nick paid a visit to our house. We thought a beard and glasses could fool our 'too smart for his own good' oldest child, but within 4.2 seconds he was announcing that it wasn't really Santa. It was Pop. He had it all figured out, and there was no way to tell him otherwise. Until..... Right after Santa left, Pop called to ask Tom if he could help him at his house. The wheels started turning. If Pop was Santa how could he call right after Santa left? Oh the magic and wonder of cell phones. I think if he really dwelt on it, Sam would have figured out our deceitful little trick done in the name of preserving childhood belief. But, I think he also wanted to believe that Santa really had stopped by (and not Pop- the impostor).

The face of "not-believing."

Sleepy but excited morning that our family "did Christmas." Since we left for Texas several days before Christmas we arranged to do our family's celebration before we left.

We completed our nativity scene/ advent calendar and remembered the true meaning of Christmas.
The boys love opening the boxes to discover what character of the nativity will be added to the scene.

And once the baby Jesus in the manger arrives on the scene, the advent is complete, and the true meaning of the season is fulfilled.
Then...... on to gifts. Jack's face says, "Seriously, Mom- clothes? Are you kidding me?"

Go Pats! We had hopes that he could wear it to a Super Bowl party. Too bad that ship has sailed.
Tom and his Star Wars action figures.
The boys got iShuffles loaded with their books on CD and the kid music that can make a sane adult crazy in no time flat. Actually, a gift for Tom and me since the boys could use them on the plane ride to Texas.

So there you have the first installment of the Price Family Holidays...... coming soon... part 2.

Such sweet little holiday faces ~ especially Jack in the first picture! Love the expression. I have been looking for an advent calendar with the Nativity included ~ where did you find that one?
