A Jack's Eye View

One of Jack's birthday gifts was a kids' camera. It's supposed to be "kid-proof." We shall see- I'll keep you posted. Anyway, I've been eye-ing them for awhile and found one at Kohl's for 80% off. That's right, sisters- 80% off. Who doesn't love that kind of bargain? I had a hard time justifying spending $100 bucks on an item that most assuredly would be dropped in and on 'who knows what?' would probably have juice, etc spilled upon it, and would basically endure a life of bumps and bruises (I said it's supposed to be 'kid-proof,' but I'm not sure it's rated 'kid proof' based on the activities, rough and toughness of my kids). But, for $20! Are you kidding me? Little boys (and big boys) around here LOVE gadgets and items with working buttons! SOOO the camera was a hit! And since I haven't downloaded pictures from the grown-up camera, I'm giving you a glimpse of his little party from Jack's perspective. Watch out papparazzi- Here comes Jack!!









His photography skills aren't too shabby for a three year old. Maybe we have a future Ansel Adams on our hands.

3 years old

On Jack's actual B-day Tom had to be out of town (kind of sad). No worries. We took our inflatable jumpy house thingy and set it up in Aunt Heidi's living room. Super small celebration, but there were cup-cakes, and if you have cup-cakes a party is complete. We had a more official celebration that weekend when Daddy came home and when Dee Dee came to visit.

Memory Lane

Indulge me- Jack turned 3 this month, and I can't believe the "baby" isn't the baby (or at least he's trying not to be). It doesn't seem like that long ago he was this tiny infant, and now he is going non-stop, keeping up with big kids, and surprising us on a daily basis with new discoveries, ideas, and "Jack-isms." We just treasure this little guy. Our family is blessed with his humor, creativity, wild imagination, words of encouragement, happy-go- lucky personality, and countless other character quirks that make him Jack. We want to keep him little, but we look forward to seeing how God will use these unique traits and strengths for His service as our son grows.

Cute Little Traffic Cones

Our season is just about over. Toward the end Sam was getting the hang of it, and Jack only used his hands once or twice a game. He is still so young when it comes to understanding competition. I guess it could be confusing. We typically drill the concept of sharing, don't take things from others, etc. Jack would get kinda frustrated when another player stole the ball from him when he was set to take it to the goal ("He's not sharin' eff me"). Maybe we can get the differentiation between sharing and stealing the ball during a game next season.
