First boat ride of the year

Easter afternoon we got to praise God for the abundance of rain we've had this spring- from Pop and Loni's boat on the lake. Last summer, the lake was so low, they couldn't get the boat in the water for a good portion of the season. While the rain has kept us cooped up inside A LOT the past couple of months, we are grateful for the higher water level and boat rides! It was relaxing, and the boys loved it! It reminded me of Easter 3 years ago. Jack was born on Good Friday 2006, and we got to come home from the hospital on Easter afternoon. Straight from the hospital we went to go pick up Sam and headed out for a boat ride with our 2 day old baby. Good memories. Anyway, the weather was beautiful, and we had a great family day.

Jack loves him some baby Marshall.

This looks unsupervised. Should we be worried?

Easter morning- HE IS RISEN!

I love holidays! I love the fun traditions, special outfits, family meals, and the imagination, joy, and simple childishness it all brings out. I have such fond, childhood memories of Easter- bonnets (oh-yes- I wore the bonnets) and looking for eggs and baskets (the fireplace was a family favorite). The boys had a fun Easter day, and Sam is getting to the point where he can begin to appreciate the reason for these holidays. We do enjoy the "fun" side of holidays, but we also make a point to return to the most important part of Easter- our risen Lord and Savior.

Good morning- RISE AND SHINE!!

LOOK WHAT I FOUND IN THAT EGG, MOM!!

Peaches and cream- wouldn't I love to be able to buy skin like that in a bottle.

Sweet brothers- Any bets on how long we stayed neat and pressed?

How about 2 minutes? By the way, this is Jack's "I'm so excited " pose.

You're squishing my face!

Dad, now you're squishing my face too!

WHEW! That's better.

Dye-ing for eggs

I was a little disappointed. I had high hopes for egg decorating, but only one little boy wanted anything to do with it. As you can tell by the pictures I couldn't even lure Jack over for one photo-op. Oh well! Sam and I had fun dyeing , sparkling, etc.

Time for crazy, mad updates

So... I've been busy (and also lazy) when it has come to updating the blog. Sorry Heid. I'm psyching myself up to get back in the blogging groove and post about the last month. However, no promises that events will be in an accurate chronological order. Here goes nothing!
